Lyrics

WHO OWNS THE SUN CATNIP PAT=+=

I'D LIKE TO TAKE YOU AWAY--FOR A DAY AND A NIGHT--WE'LL FORGET ALL ABOUT--WHO OWNS THE SUN
I'M NOT IN LOVE WITH YOU NOW--BUT I'M DIGGING IN DEEP
YOU DON'T HAVE TO TELL ME HOW--MUCH I CAN KEEP=KITTY,KITTY,KITTY
INSTRUMENTAL SOLO ACCORDIAN
AND WHEN I LOOK IN YOUR EYES==I SEE YOU'RE STILL ON THE RUN
YOU'RE STILL TRYING TO TRACK DOWN==WHO OWNS THE SUN
YOU'RE STILL TRYING TO TRACK DOWN==WHO OWNS THE SUN
STILL TRYING TO FIND OUT=WHO OWNS THE SUN RUN TIME 2:39

Great accordion. You can't sequence that kind of love in an accordion. Nope.... I've tried. Cool little love song for the river restaurant at diner.

The vocal sound was very original. Did not sound like anyone I could easily think of.

I really enjoyed the instruments. The balance of vocals and instruments in good. Song has a nice flow, with contrasting movements.

The fact that an accordion is used definitely different.

Who owns the sun? Well, when the beachcombing keyboards, accordion, and visions of paradise and good female company, who cares? The crazy fun intro zooms you into an easy, lazy, pleasant melody that takes you right down. Effortless jamming, an everyman vocal, that spells out an easy fun mood. Hey, fun, simple yet inventive lyrics, too. This is a tune that does what it was meant to do!

I love the Italian vibe I get from it

Is that an accordian?

It reminds me of piano bar (1930s/40s/50s); James Darren. I haven't been to a piano bar in decades, but I sang in them back in the day. I went ahead and agreed with "World" because it has an unusual rhythm. Otherwise, I'd probably have described it as jazz/dinner/bar music.

I love the instrument arrangement

Starts a bit like a salsa / brazilian song and turns into a kinda Sinatra-esque / mid 50's crooner song. Didn't see that coming

Napoleon Dynamite singing an unknown Kinks song. Different but daringly fun.

Nice vocal, very interesting harmony in your song...story for many....life does go on...but to remember the sweet times...

Very unique piece of music really diggin the piano track on this one. Kind of has a 30s tin pan ally sound to it.

Very influenced European sound with the accordion. Nice lyrics and a well arranged song. Very enjoyable

I like the live sound of this recording... Fresh sound, very unique. Similar to Tom Waits. Not too many songs with accordion and piano, works well here. Heartfelt vocal performance. Best of luck with your music!! Nice song

Fun accordian and piano tune.

really a good voice, and good song too

I like the accordion and other instruments blending in the intro
I would describe this as a free-wheeling, non conforming song. I feel like the writer did not care ir try to make the song follow rules or conform to song structure. As such, my impression is that it was a pure artistic expression

Really fun and authentic feeling track. I could see this working in a movie placement. It has a certain unpredictability right from the accordian itself to the maraca dropping out totally that makes it perfect for an inquisitive kind of set-up for film/TV.

The Song is certainly unique, which grabs the listener immediately!! I like the instruments in the arrangement and the vocals somewhat work, but the Singer's intonation slightly gets in the way! There are also some timing issues in the Music, that are slightly troubling! If this tune was just tightened-up a tad, it would be super Cool!! Hat's off for originality!!!

This hits me as being something that would fit in a sixties foreign film, thanks to the accordian and the vocal delivery.

There is potential in this track for mini gigs or private parties, when it is time to have an intimate and bluesy time with a partner on the dance floor. Relaxing. Vocals are cool, but pls see constructive comments below.

Nice vocal and instrumentation with Parisian feel . Simple arrangement which fits together well

Lovely intro, which sets the scene for the song wonderfully. The song has a great atmosphere. Although the lyrics are straightforward, they complement the ambience of the song brilliantly. The instrumentation is first class and sounds totally authentic. The melody is compelling and grows on the listener with repeated plays.

I hear this and think of lounge music and Dean Martin.. Very creative going retro on this recording. Not use to listening to this style but I like it and could really listen to more. Way to go..

This unique song transports the listener to an offbeat place where there's an accordion or concertina player noodling around in the corner. I love the fun vibe that comes across in the long intro. "Who owns the sun?" nice phrase. I really like the instrument combo of piano and concertina/accordion. Very easygoing.
